Caring for Your Eyes After a Stroke with coMra Therapy
What You Need to Know
coMra therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment used to support recovery after stroke. It does not cut, burn, or heat. Instead, it uses low-intensity light, sound waves (ultrasound), and magnetic stimulation that work together to support blood flow, cellular repair, and communication between the eye and brain.
Why We Use It Here
- Helps restore communication between the eye and brain.
- Supports healthy blood flow and energy in damaged pathways.
- May expand visual fields and improve comfort in daily activities.
What to Expect
You will not feel pain, heat, or pressure. During the session, you may notice a gentle blinking light through your eyelids — this is normal. Treatments are quiet, comfortable, and completed in just a few minutes, either over your closed eyes or, when appropriate, near the area of the stroke.
Tailoring & Safety
Your doctor will adjust the treatment protocol to match your needs. In the early period after a stroke, we may start with shorter, gentler sessions and gradually increase. For ongoing cases, the focus may be on stabilizing vision and easing strain.
Your Role
- Attend your sessions as advised.
- Share any changes you notice in your vision or comfort.
- Ask questions—we want you and your family to feel confident in the care you receive.
